CSO Chamber Music at the University of Chicago

Apr 11, 2027 — 3:00 PM
Mandel Hall University of Chicago

Overview

Musicians from the renowned Chicago Symphony Orchestra explore musical satire and parody. Milhaud’s La Cheminée du roi René, an amusing collection of musical miniatures, opens the program. Poulenc’s Sextet for Piano and Winds — a lighthearted piece whose second movement caricatures Mozart’s slow movements — is paired with Mozart’s Quintet for Piano and Winds.
