School Partnerships

Each season, the Chicago Symphony presents dozens of educational concerts that reach over 25,000 children and youth. To complement these inspiring performances, deepen student learning and expand access to music education, the Negaunee Music Institute invests in 100 in-depth partnerships with Chicago area pre-Kindergarten through grade 12 schools, engaging over 10,000 students and teachers. 

Partnerships include field trips to Chicago Symphony Center, in-school performances and coachings by musicians of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Civic Orchestra, teacher workshops and engagement with innovative online resources. In-school activities are offered free of charge. 

While a variety of schools from across the Chicago area participate in this programming, the majority of partners are Chicago Public Schools.
