CSO MusicNOW: Inspiring Voices with Casarrubios & Golijov
Overview
Inspiring Voices connects composer and cellist Andrea Casarrubios with one of her inspirations, former Mead Composer-in-Residence Osvaldo Golijov. Casarrubios performs two of her own pieces, including a world premiere, alongside Golijov’s seminal work Tenebrae, which contrasts the Argentinian-Israeli composer’s experiences of war with the innocence and optimism of childhood. Also on the program is Betty Olivero’s Bashra’v, which takes its inspiration from tunes originating in the Arab-Jewish musical tradition.
Each ticket includes access to a postconcert party in the Rotunda at Symphony Center. MusicNOW is more than a concert; it’s an immersive evening of celebrating the arts and meeting new people. Following the concert, you’re invited to the Rotunda to enjoy complimentary pizza and refreshments, plus the opportunity to mix and mingle with the artists and your fellow concert-goers.
Pizza for CSO MusicNOW is generously provided by Jet’s Pizza.
